§512 compliance
Are you actually
safe-harbour ready?
The §512 safe harbour comes with five obligations. They are not hard, but they are easy to forget, and the failure is silent until a notice arrives. We check all five, score them, and give you the evidence.
The five things §512 requires
- Designated agent registered and published §512(c)(2)(A) · You must designate an agent to receive infringement notices, publish the agent's details where the public can find them, AND provide them to the U.S. Copyright Office.
- Repeat-infringer policy §512(i)(1)(A) · You must have adopted and reasonably implemented a policy for terminating repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
- Takedown process published and staffed §512(c)(1)(C), §512(c)(3) · A notice must be able to reach someone who will act on it. The notice must contain the six elements of §512(c)(3)(A) or it does not count as notice at all.
- Standard technical measures accommodation §512(i)(1)(B) · You must accommodate and not interfere with standard technical measures used to identify or protect copyrighted works.
- Counter-notice process §512(g)(2) · When a subscriber counter-notifies, you must promptly forward it to the original complainant and replace the material in 10 to 14 business days unless a suit is filed.

What this is not
This service exists so that a host can comply properly and prove it. It does not help anyone ignore a notice, evade a takedown, or host infringing material. The counter-notice builder helps a creator assert a right the statute actually gives them.
What it costs
Pay by PayPal - monthly or annual, and the annual plan is twelve months for the price of ten. No card form, nothing to cancel.
